When it came to my Funko Pop collection, horror wasn’t at the top of the list of must-have items. Here we are a couple of years in collecting pops and how many variations of Batman and Joker can you stand? Moving on to Marvel makes your collections look like a spilled box of crayons and Riverdale only has so many characters. Now here I am tracking down every childhood monster I love or had nightmares about.
Here are several of my favorite Funko Pop horror finds to date and where to get ’em!
- Jason – Friday the 13th
Jason Voorhees should be on any gaymers list after the release of Illfonic’s game. My personal favorite is the retro purple Jason themed after the original NES game.
- Greta – Gremlins
Maybe the first drag queen I’ve ever seen on film. Greta was a hot piece of work and makes for a great addition to any 80’s baby collection.
- Nemesis – Resident Evil
As a fan of the films and games, Nemesis was a definite purchase. How can you say no to that pearly white smile?
- Pennywise – It
The original film was almost impossible to watch as a kid and the new one did not disappoint. I’m still pumped for the 2nd film and I hope we get a whole new spider monster to inflict arachnophobia on a new generation (because I’m sure It is why I hate spiders).
- Ash – Army of Darkness
The very first movie I snuck into, Army of Darkness featured the most badass antihero I’ve ever seen. Ash isn’t a monster or bad guy but every horror collections needs a hero to keep it inline right? Shit, I’ve seen Toy Story, Small Soldiers and The Indian in the Cupboard; Funko Pops cannot be trusted.
