DC games you didn’t know existed

When you’re waiting for Aquaman to release or reading the latest rumors on Rocksteady’s Justice League project (fingers crossed) you may find yourself going through DC withdraw. When I need a fix and comics, old movies, animated films aren’t cutting it, I find myself digging up old game titles I missed out on.

Here are 4 DC video games you never knew existed (because I sure as hell didn’t!).

4. Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters

This game was a tie-in to the Green Lantern film back in 2011 and featured it’s own story taking place after the movie. Rise of the Manhunters is not one of my most favorite DC video game titles but it will definitely keep you busy button mashing and earning new hard light powers to bash baddies with. The best parts of the game are unlocking new abilities and playing couch co-op with a friend.

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is available for PS3 & Xbox 360. Please support WAG by purchasing products through our Amazon links!

3. Constantine

Another movie game that follows the same story, Constantine is definitely a game you shouldn’t miss if you are a fan of the film or into the angelic and demonic lore surrounding the DC character. The game feels like Max Payne (shooting and movement) and Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay (special vision) had a baby. Constantine is a fun character with a growing fan base after the recent TV shows and the awesome animated film Justice League: Dark. If you haven’t played the game or seen Dark you are missing out.

2. Young Justice: Legacy

Again a game title to tie into other media, Young Justice: Legacy features it’s own story apart from the canceled Young Justice TV show. The show writers also worked on the game’s story and this is what made the game worth playing to me as a fan of the series. If you enjoyed Ultimate Alliance you will find this game has a similar feel but it also comes off a bit rushed as far as gameplay. But, I am a big fan of playing couch co-op and this is another title you can enjoy with your DC buddies!

1. DC Universe Online

I know half the people seeing this are probably wondering why this made the list and I even questioned myself before adding it. But truth be told, I’ve never mentioned a game so much to other DC fans who have no idea it exists. DCUO is a huge online multiplayer game that lets you create your very own hero or villain with choice of mentor in the world of DC. This free-to-play game has been out for years and still sees monthly updates, new story chapters and character customization add-ons. DCUO is strictly online only but definitely worth any DC fans time. DCUO is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
